Catching Up...

I haven't written much about deputation lately, so I thought I would write a posting to catch everyone up.

A few weeks ago we dropped in on a church in Griffin on a Wednesday night. We didn't have a meeting so we just picked a church within driving distance. Once we arrived at the church, we thought we had wasted a trip. The church was being remodeled. There were some people there so Rodney went in to leave a prayer card. He was told the service would be held in the fellowship hall. The pastor gave Rodney a few minutes to give his testimony. After Rodney gave his testimony, the pastor asked the church to take us on for monthly support. The pastor also invited us back so Rodney can preach on a Sunday morning.

The following Sunday we had a scheduled meeting in Dalton, GA. We had to leave our house at 7:15 AM to get to the church on time. That was really a long day. Rodney taught the Senior Adult Sunday School class. The class seemed to be touched by Rodney's lesson. During the morning service, Rodney was able to present our ministry and give his testimony. A director with BIMI preached the morning service. The message was such an encouragment to us. He had many stories of people saved on the mission field. We can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do in Venezuela.

We attended our home church on the following Wednesday because it was our daughter, Katie's birthday. She begged us to go to church with her friends on her birthday since we didn't have a scheduled meeting.

On this past Sunday, we dropped in on a church in Stockbridge. The pastor gave Rodney a couple of minutes, but the pastor did not seem too interested in our ministry. We were going to drop in on a church in Jonesboro for Sunday night. When we got there, the church had either moved or disbanded. We rushed to Covington to go to our home church. We got there a few minutes late, but we were able to hear the special music and guest evangelist.

Last night and this morning we were part of a missions conference in Newnan, GA. Rodney gave his testimony and presented our ministry. Brother Don Richards, pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, was the guest speaker. His message was a great reminder of why we "go into all the world". He used the Samaritan woman. Jesus "must needs go through Samaria." He had to go to Samaria because there was a certain woman who needed Salvation, and many others believed in Jesus because of her testimony. We must go into all the world because there is a certain person that only we can reach, and that person can reach many others. The message was very inspiring. This morning, Rodney got to speak to the kids in the Christian school. He probably signed 100 Bibles!

During this month, we have had two calls from pastors who were bringing us before their church for monthly support. We have quite a few churches that we are waiting to see monthly support from. The support has already been approved; we just haven't seen it yet.
