Our next meeting was for Sunday, December 7th. It was in Quarryville, PA, which is very close to Lancaster, PA. Lancaster is a very touristy city. We had to provide our own lodging for Thursday & Friday night. We decided to stay in Lancaster. We checked in Thursday afternoon after a 3 hour drive from Martinsburg, PA. I was very excited since there was an outlet center about 1/4 mile from our hotel. The girls and I were able to do some Christmas shopping in between school.
The church in Quarryville made arrangements for our lodging for Saturday & Sunday nights. We stayed with a family in the church, however, we could not arrive at their home until between 7 PM & 8 PM on Saturday night. We had a lot of time to waste between check out time at the hotel and that night. We had already spent a lot of time at the outlet center, so we decided to find a mall so Josie could see Santa Claus. Yes, we believe in Santa Claus!!! The picture was really cute, but Katie threatened my life if I put it on the blog. She was standing to the side, and Santa told her to "get over here right now" and made her sit on his lap too!
(Don't tell her I told you!!)
We stayed with a really nice family. She fed us cheeseburger soup. That was a first for us, but Josie really liked it, and usually she hates soup. It snowed Saturday night. It was really beautiful. Sunday morning everything was white.
Rodney presented our ministry and preached Sunday night. The pastor told him that the church was reviewing the missionaries that they support; so maybe we will see some support in the future.
We got up at 6:30 Monday morning and began the drive home at about 7:15 AM. We drove continuous, only stopping for bathroom breaks, gas, and drive thru lunch and supper. We arrived home Monday night at about 8:00 PM. That was the longest nonstop drive we have done. We were exhausted, but we were glad to be home.
