Florida 2009

Two weeks ago, Rodney, Josie and I travelled to Edgewater, FL to meet the new pastor of one of our supporting churches. It was a wonderful trip. The new pastor is doing a great job, and the church is growing spiritually and in numbers. We had a great time catching up with all of the folks we knew when we worked in the church.

While in Florida, a good friend of ours took Rodney deep sea fishing. The weatherman forecast a perfect day with 1-2 foot seas. They had a great day of fishing, and they caught several red and gray snapper. On the way back to shore, the first 20 miles were normal. The last 10 miles to shore were, to say the least, very dangerous. A severe thunderstorm rolled in late that afternoon. There was strong winds, lightening, and hail. Todd & Rodney had to navigate through 8 foot waves the last 10 miles. Thank the Lord for His protection! Those crazy guys didn't even put on their life jackets!

Josie and I spent a couple of days at the beach. It was a nice, relaxing mini-vacation! Notice the shark tooth necklacein the picture of Josie. That is what she chose as a souvenir. Her cousin Clay has one, and she just had to have one too. We had a picnic on the beach...peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. YUM!
