Last Meeting-Spencer, WV

Our last meeting on this trip was Sunday, July 20th. We were at a church in Spencer, WV. What a meeting we had! The pastor taught Sunday school, and the lesson was such a blessing. It was about how so many are attending church, but are being robbed of the truth. Many "churches" are tickling the ears of people, but are not warning the people about hell and the consequences of sin. I am so thankful for my home church, Newton Baptist Church in Covington, GA. We have a pastor that teaches the whole Bible.

Rodney preached the morning service, and many people responded and came to the alter. In the evening service, Rodney gave his testimony and preached again. This message was about giving all of your life to Christ. He used the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 with the little boy's lunch. He asked the question "What if the little boy had kept his lunch?" (The lunch being symbolic of our whole life-everything.) This message touched many in the service that night. After we got home, Rodney received an email from one of the men in the church. Here is an excerpt from it.

Right now in my life I am searching for God's will for me in this world. I don't feel called to be a missionary but your message tonight has helped me to be completely surrendered to God. I want you to know I have heard this before to give God all but God used you tonight to help me remember it and to be more surrendered than ever in my Christian life.

It is such a blessing to know that even though we are on the road trying to raise financial support to take the Gospel to Venezuela, we are having an impact on the people we meet along the way.
